Bradley Arthur

About The Artist

Bradley Arthur Born in Tampa, Florida and raised in Miami Beach. His career as a sculptor began in 1970 when at 17 after attending a metal sculpture program at the Coconut Grove School of Art., taught by the metal sculptor Hugh Dumont. He later apprenticed for Dumont and also started the welded art class at Miami Beach High School. After graduating with a degree in Fine Art from the University of South Florida (1975) he worked and traveled and enjoyed a series of apprenticeships with several metals, bronze and marble sculptors in France, Italy and New York City.  Arthur attended the Lacoste School of the Arts (1978) in Provence, France. He apprenticed for the Japanese master stone carver Yasuo Mizui in Paris and Nancy, France.  In the late 70’s and early 80’s, he worked in the stone and bronze studios in Pietrasanta, Italy. He maintained a studio in a historic landmark building in Tribeca in lower Manhattan from 1978 -1997.
